Isabel Burford, 90, of Cape Girardeau, died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 1993, at LaCroix Manor.
She was born April 21, 1903, at Charleston, daughter of Elbert and Josephine Albertine Shelby. She and John A. Burford were married in 1930 in Cape Girardeau. He died in 1946.
Burford was office manager for her brother, Dr. M.H. Shelby and for Dr. Garland Reynolds, retiring in 1968. She was a member of First Baptist Church and its DOW Sunday School Class.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathrine Hawkins of St. Louis, Marion Weiss of Cape Girardeau; eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, two brothers and a sister.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. Douglas Burford, a nephew, will officiate. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery at Charleston.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from noon to service time.
