SIKESTON, Mo. -- Isaac "Ike" Tate, 70, of Sikeston died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born Jan. 21, 1934, in Memphis, Tenn., son of Allen and Lillie Morris Tate.

Tate had farmed and was an umpire for area baseball games.

Survivors include two daughters, Vanessa Ray of Cape Girardeau, Barbara Howard of Sikeston; three sons, Isaac Harrington of Dolton, Ill., Cleveland Brandon of East St. Louis, Ill., Michael Tate of Nashville, Tenn.; five sisters, Alice Carter of Lynnwood, Ill., Pearlie White of Sikeston, Linda Pipkins of Chicago, India Pipkins of Harvey, Ill., Mildred Carlock of Markham, Ill.; three brothers, Allen Tate Jr. of Harvey, Melvin Tate of Sikeston, Jessie Tate of Dolton; and nine grandchildren.

Friends may call at West End Baptist Church from 11 a.m. Saturday until time of service.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church, with the Revs. Chester Yarber and Alex Sims officiating. Burial will be in Sunset of Memories Cemetery.

Williams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
