Irma Lee Halter, 74, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center. She was born Aug. 8, 1928, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of William and Nellie Robinson Schwepker. She and Adolph Halter were married July 23, 1949, at Dutchtown. He died Sept. 30, 1980...

Irma Lee Halter, 74, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 8, 1928, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of William and Nellie Robinson Schwepker. She and Adolph Halter were married July 23, 1949, at Dutchtown. He died Sept. 30, 1980.

Halter was a lifetime resident of Cape Girardeau County. She was a cook at Notre Dame High School 22 years, retiring in 1996. She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral and Notre Dame Boosters Club.

Survivors include two sons, Tom and Kevin Halter of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Sharon Dirnberger and Lisa Halter of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Cathedral, with Msgr. Richard Rolwing officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
