CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Iris Lee Taylor Slinkard, adoring and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt went home to be with our Heavenly Father on Saturday, April 1, 2006.
Slinkard, 61, of Chaffee, died at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Oct. 21, 1944, in Chaffee, daughter of Hampton Howard and Maude Louise White Taylor. She and Gerry Slinkard were married July 20, 1968, and he survives.
Slinkard was employed as a utility worker at Florsheim Shoe Factory in Chaffee and Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Crystal Slinkard and Michael Hayes of Chaffee; two grandchildren, Katelyn and Seth Hayes, both of Chaffee; a sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Mike Swain of Chaffee; nieces Trisha Brown of Chaffee and Kim Glastetter of Benton; nephews John Brown of St. Louis and Aaron Glastetter of Chaffee; and a great-nephew, Noah Glastetter of Benton.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Margaret Taylor and Laura Taylor Brown.
Friends may call at 4 p.m. today at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel with the Rev. C.B. Stidham and the Rev. Jack Owens officiating. Burial will be at the Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
Pallbearers are Aaron Glastetter, John Brown, Michael Hayes, Michael Swain, David Copeland and Greg Worl.
