IRENE VOTRAIN

Irene C. Votrain, 78, of Lebanon, Ill., died Wednesday, June 12, 1996, in Sparta, Ill.

She was born Sept. 23, 1917, in Mascoutah, Ill., daughter of Edward and Ida Freivogel Klein. She and Edwin Votrain Jr. were married May 8, 1937, in Waterloo, Ill. He died Dec. 17, 1971.

Votrain worked for Dr. Harris and Dr. Harsin Medical Office in Lebanon many years. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Lebanon, National Hikers and Campers Association, VFW Auxiliary, Kentucky Colonel, and Pride of St. Clair Rebekah Lodge 145.

Survivors include a daughter, LaRue McAllister of Jackson; a brother, Robert Klein of Mascoutah; three sisters, Bernice Arth of Troy, Ill., Cleo Brede of New Baden, Ill., Vivian Eakins of Cape Girardeau, and two grandsons.

Friends may call at Meyer Funeral Home in Lebanon from 3-8 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Don Wagner officiating. Burial will be in College Hill Cemetery at Labanon.
