ALTENBURG, Mo. -- Irene N. Palisch, 90, of Altenburg passed away Friday, July 2, 2021, at Independence Care Center of Perry County.
She was born Sept. 11, 1930, in Uniontown, Missouri, to Benjamin and Emma "Alma" Brandes Bock. She and Elmer H. Palisch were married on Oct. 4, 1952, at Grace Lutheran Church in Uniontown. He preceded her in death Sept. 7, 2001.
Irene was a housekeeper in Cape Girardeau for many years. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altenburg and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in Perryville, Missouri. She was a caregiver to her grandchildren and mother over the years. She loved gardening and flowers.
Survivors include a daughter, Colleen Burroughs of Altenburg; two sons, James "Jim" (Tammy) Palisch of Altenburg and Ronald "Ron" (Char) Palisch of Frohna, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Justin (Karissa) Burroughs, Ryan (Leslie) Burroughs, Dane Burroughs, Tessa Burroughs, Derek (Heather) Palisch, Olivia (Matt) Oppelt, Colby (Sara) Palisch, Trey (Courtney) Palisch and Drew (Lindsay) Palisch; 16 great-grandchildren, Addie, Ashton, Ansley, Blair, Emily, Anabelle, Brody, Aubrie, Afton, Greer, Lettie, Collins, Sloane, Alma, Eleanora and Layne.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer H. Palisch; son-in-law, Kenneth Burroughs; two brothers, Alfred Bock and Eldor Bock; and sister, Ruth Ponder.
Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 a.m. today at Ford and Young East Perry Funeral Home in Altenburg.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. today at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altenburg with the Rev. Frank Lucas officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altenburg.
