Irene I. Crook, 78, died Friday, May 19, 1995, at St. Louis University Hospital.
She was a resident of St. Louis and a former resident of East Prairie.
She was born Nov. 14, 1916, at Success, Ark., and was the daughter of the late Andrew Jackson and Cora Ann Hagerman Jacobs. Irene Cook moved from East Prairie to St. Louis in 1962.
She was a member of the Church of Christ in East Prairie. She married William Oscar Crook Oct. 7, 1933. He preceded her in death on July 9, 1961.
She is survived by four sons, Jack Crook of Florissant, Charles Crook of Anniston, William Crook of Woodson Terrace and Billy Crook of Haleyville, Ala.; two brothers, Newton Jacobs of St. James and Lloyd Jacobs of Chesterfield; three sisters, Edith Adkins of Doniphan, Cleva Hill of St. John, and Allene Rogers of Florissant; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call today after 5 p.m. at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the Shelby Funeral Chapel, with Brother Orin Tharp of Corning, Ark., officiating.
Burial will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
