PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Irene Hager of Perryville died May 20, 2010, at Independence Care Center of Perry County in Perryville. She was 90.
She was born Oct. 24, 1919, at Menfro, Mo., daughter of the late Norman and Grace Foster Clifton. She and Nolan J. Hager were married Oct. 24, 1939. He preceded her in death Aug. 27, 1984.
Survivors include six sons, Milton (Janet) Hager of Troy, Mo., Eugene (Sandy) Hager of Uniontown, Mo., Robert Hager of St. Peters, Mo., Ray (Donna) Hager and Jasper (Judy) Hager, all of Barnhart, Mo., Edward (Pat) Hager of Elkton, Md.; two daughters, Clara (James) Vernon of Arnold, Mo., Dorthy (Clarence) Buchheit of Perryville; three brothers, Lawrence (Ida) Clifton of Columbus, Ind., Francis (Elliotte) Clifton of Scottsdale, Ariz., Virgil (Mildred) Clifton of St. Louis; 23 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Nolan; three daughters, Doris (Gary) Brewer, Faye Hager, Janice Hager; and two brothers Cecil (June) Clifton and Martin (Lonieta) Clifton.
Mrs. Hager was a homemaker. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and 6:30 to 8 a.m. Tuesday at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Crosstown, Mo., with the Rev. Steve Francis officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to Bethlehem Baptist Church or Hospice Care Inc.
