ANNA, Ill. -- Irene Caroline Davis, 98, of Anna died Sunday, Dec. 8, 1996, at the City Care Center in Anna.
She was born Jan. 4, 1898, in Jonesboro to the late Absolom and Martha Ellen Carter Coleman. She married Lawrence Davis Sr. on March 24, 1914, in Reynoldsville. He preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Cape Ground Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Ruth Whiting of Anna, Essie Morber of Gorham and Edna May Hill of Dongola; four sons, Lawrence Davis Jr. of Anna, Lester and Russell Davis, both of Jonesboro, and Robert Davis of Indianapolis; a sister, Elnora Winn of Plaquemine, La.; 23 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and 25 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two infant children, a son, a daughter, a brother and a half-sister.
Friends may call from 3:30 to 8 p.m. today at the Hileman and Parr Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery.
