Irene Burger, 96, of Scott City died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Jan. 4, 1916, in Hot Springs, Ark., to Sam B. and Mary Lou Wallis Adams. She married Fred Charles Burger June 27, 1949, in Hot Springs. He preceded her in death Feb. 15, 2000.

Irene was head waitress at the Sheraton Jefferson Hotel in St. Louis.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with Tom Brunke officiating. Burial will be in Dunklin County Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett, Mo.
