IONE URBAN

SIKESTON -- Funeral service for Ione L. "Brownie" Urban of Sikeston will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ponder Funeral Home. The Rev. Kenneth Jarvis will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Urban, 80, died Thursday, July 18, 1996, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 18, 1915, at Brighton, daughter of Charles J. and Myrtis A. Cairns Laux. She and Dr. Dewey E. Urban were married June 1, 1939. He died Jan. 24, 1996.

Urban was a registered nurse and worked in her husband's dentist office before retiring. She was a member of Hunter Memorial Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include a sister, Phyllis Kendig of St. Louis.
