Ingrid Forsythe, 77, of Cape Girardeau passed away Sunday, Nov. 27. 2022, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St Louis.
She was born Feb. 8, 1945, in Lüsberg, Germany.
Ingrid was trained as a tailor and worked as a seamstress at Thorngate Ltd. and Custom Creations by RM Coco until her retirement. She enjoyed caring for her home, yard and garden, and had a special place in her heart for German shepherd dogs.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Ingrid is survived by her siblings, Dieter (Elke) Nitschke, Karen Bach and Jeannette Stotz; three nieces and a nephew, all of Germany; her children, Eric (Saundra) Flanagan, Lee W. (Cindy Balsmann) Flanagan, Glenn H. (Mark Costaldi) Forsythe and Juanita (Dale) Bremer; grandchildren, Christopher (Elizabeth) Roberts, Eric Matthew Flanagan, Joshua Lix, Ethan Lix, Wyatt (Dana) Lix, Jonathan (Rachel) Bremer, Danielle (Chuck) Brown and Mo (Travis) Boxdorfer; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Werner and Helene Nitschke of Bamberg, Germany.
Ingrid was a strong supporter of medical research and donated her body to Saint Louis University.
There will be a private celebration of life at a later date.
