Inez Hardy, 91, formerly of Glen Carbon, Ill., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2006, at her home in Jackson. She was born in Kortcamp, Ill., daughter of Edward and Sophie Brasche Daech. She and Lester Hardy were married in 1951. He preceded her in death in 1968...

Inez Hardy, 91, formerly of Glen Carbon, Ill., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2006, at her home in Jackson.

She was born in Kortcamp, Ill., daughter of Edward and Sophie Brasche Daech. She and Lester Hardy were married in 1951. He preceded her in death in 1968.

Inez lived most of her life in Glen Carbon, retiring from the former Olin Munitions Factory in Alton, Ill., after 35 years. She was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Glen Carbon.

Loving survivors are a daughter, Kay Miller of Jackson; three grandchildren, Michael (Sandy) Miller, Gena (Ron) Davis, all of Cape Girardeau, and Gregory (Carol) Miller of Jackson; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and her feline companions, Ernie and Lucifer.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers, a sister and a granddaughter.

Friends may call today from 6 to 8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

Graveside funeral will be held Friday at 11:30 a.m. at Glen Carbon City Cemetery in Glen Carbon, with the Rev. John Beveridge officiating.

Pallbearers are Ron Davis, Mike Miller, Greg Miller, Bradley Jackson, Sidney Miller, and Cody Gustin. Honorary pallbearer is Andrew Miller.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri.
