BELL CITY, Mo. -- Ellen Inez Felker Barks, 91, of Columbia, Mo., formerly of Bell City, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014.
She was born Sept. 16, 1922, in Messler, Mo., to Frank and Stella Cardwell Felker.
Inez was a substitute teacher and teacher's aide in the Bell City schools and later was a parent coordinator for Bell City Head Start. She was a member of Bell City United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school and was an active member of United Methodist Women. She was volunteer coordinator for UNICEF.
Survivors include a son, Dennis Barks of Hermann, Mo.; a daughter, Phyllis Barks of Rocheport, Mo.; three grandchildren, Sarah Barks of Washington, D.C., Daniel Barks of Boston and Liz Hoff of Cape Cod, Mass.; and a great-granddaughter, Grace Hoff.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul H. Barks; her parents; and a brother, Russell Felker.
The funeral was Saturday at Bell City United Methodist Church. Interment was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Pleasant Hill Cemetery Memorial Association in care of Morgan Funeral Home in Advance, Mo.
