V. Imogene "Imer" Miller, 86, of Fargo, N.D., died Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006, at Elim Rehabilitation and Care Center in Fargo.
She was born March 1, 1920, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of David Lee and Louva Alice Nanney. She and Daniel George William Miller were married March 1, 1943, in Miami Beach, Fla., where Daniel was stationed in the Army Air Corps.
She graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a teaching degree. She taught in Cairo, Ill., Cape Girardeau and retired from teaching in Pasadena, Calif. After returning to Cape for a few years she moved to Fargo to be near her daughter and grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Dana Johnson of Fort Collins, Colo., Karen Colburn of Socorro, N.M.; two grandchildren, William Colburn of Socorro, Jennifer Feighny of Loveland, Colo.; a great-grandson, Ian Feighny of Loveland; and a nephew, Larry Points of Delmar, Md.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a grandson, Kevin Johnson; a sister, Helen Points; a nephew, Gary Points; and a brother, Glenn Nanney.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Lorimier Cemetery, with the Rev. Ken Harper officiating.
Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
