CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Imogene Jackson, 81, of Charleston died Wednesday, July 11, 2001, at her home.
She was born Oct. 2, 1919, in Ravenden Springs, Ark., daughter of William Kent and Emma Jane Spalding Childress. She and Joseph Jackson were married March 13, 1937. He died May 1, 1958.
Jackson lived in Mississippi County most of her life. She was a nurse for the late Dr. Robert L. Frazier many years, retiring in 1980.
Survivors include a son, Charles Jackson of Charleston; a daughter, Jane Kinsey of Sedalia, Ky.; a brother, Lee Childress of Detroit, Mich.; a friend, Theodore Linebaugh of Charleston; three grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by a son, two brothers, and a sister.
Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Gerald Collier will officiate. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.
