SIKESTON, Mo. — Beloved mother Imogene Clark Graviett gained her angel wings Friday, Aug. 2, 2019, at her home in Sikeston at the age of 91. Imogene was born Nov. 21, 1927, in Sikeston to the late Ben F. and Nellie Mae Altom Clark. She met the love of her life, Jerome Graviett, and they were united in marriage Dec. 1, 1943...

SIKESTON, Mo. — Beloved mother Imogene Clark Graviett gained her angel wings Friday, Aug. 2, 2019, at her home in Sikeston at the age of 91.

Imogene was born Nov. 21, 1927, in Sikeston to the late Ben F. and Nellie Mae Altom Clark. She met the love of her life, Jerome Graviett, and they were united in marriage Dec. 1, 1943.

Imogene was an active member of First Baptist Church in Oran, Missouri. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school class along with Bible school in the summers. She sang in the church choir and was a member of WMU and Golden Agers.

She retired from Thorngate, where she was a presser for many years.

She loved shopping and playing cards and dominoes with friends. By far, her biggest joy in life was spending time with her family and having family gatherings.

Imogene leaves behind two sons, Eugene Graviett of Oran and Randy Graviett (Kim) of Kelso, Missouri; two daughters, Anita Graviett of Sikeston and Nancy Glastetter (Dennis) of Chaffee, Missouri; one brother, William Clark (Peggy) of Lakewolf, Florida; and two sisters, Glenda Anthony of Huntingtown, Maryland, and Patricia Roberts (Lou) of Yuma, Arizona; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and also many family members and friends who will sadly miss her, including two special caregivers, Myra Hargrove and Wendy Alcorn.

She joined her heavenly family members who preceded her in death, including her loving husband of 36 years; her parents; three brothers, Wayne Allen Clark, Robert Clark and Ben F. Clark; one sister, Lucille Thackery; a daughter-in-law, Doris Graviett; and one grandson, Travis Graviett.

Family and friends may join in her celebration of life Tuesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Interment will follow at Friend Cemetery in Oran.

Donations may be made to First Baptist Church in Oran or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
