IKE THOMPSON

SIKESTON -- Funeral services for Ike Thompson, 89, of Sikeston, were held Sunday.

Thompson died Saturday, Feb. 5, 1994, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born Dec. 24, 1904, at Brownsville, Tenn., son of Sam and Mae Ella Thompson.

He married Carrie Walker Thompson. She died Dec. 14, 1978.

Thompson lived in Missouri since 1946.

He was a retired employee of Malone and Hyde and a member of the West End Baptist Church in Sikeston.

Survivors include six sons, Ike Thompson Jr., Mike Thompson, Cater Thompson, Sam Thompson and Bob Thompson, all of Chicago, Ill., John Thompson of Gary, Ind.; three daughters, Gladys Frye of Gary, Ella Ward of Phoenix, Ariz., Tina Turk of Chicago; 40 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
