CHARLESTON -- Ida Francis Alvey, 99, of St. Louis, formerly of Charleston, died Thursday, Dec. 27, 1990, at Alexian Brothers Hospital in St. Louis. She was born Sept. 25, 1891, in Patesville, Ky., to the late William and Melinda Boling Stowe. She had lived in St. Louis for the past eight years...

CHARLESTON -- Ida Francis Alvey, 99, of St. Louis, formerly of Charleston, died Thursday, Dec. 27, 1990, at Alexian Brothers Hospital in St. Louis.

She was born Sept. 25, 1891, in Patesville, Ky., to the late William and Melinda Boling Stowe. She had lived in St. Louis for the past eight years.

She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in St. Louis.

On May 15, 1909, she married Oscar Alvey who proceeded her in death on Aug. 23, 1949.

Three sons also proceeded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, Paul Gene Alvey of St. Louis and Ray Alvey of Sikeston; three daughters, Mildred Coots of Bertrand, Hazel Poulter of St. Louis, and Blanche Evans of Sikeston; one sister, Elzena Lamb of Sacramento Calif., 18 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and 23 great great grandchildren.

Friends may call today from 4:30 to 8 p.m. at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.

Service will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Charleston.

Father Raymond Kunkel will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery near Charleston.
