Hulda Amanda Sievers, 97, of Jackson and formerly of Tilsit, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at The Monticello House.
She was born Aug. 10, 1920, at Tilsit, daughter of Alvin M. and Amanda A. Lange Birk. She and Melbert W. Sievers were married Feb. 15, 1942. He passed away Aug. 2, 1989.
Hulda was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilsit, where she was a lifelong member and a member of the Ladies Aid. She was a former 4H Club leader for many years. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, crocheting, traveling and playing cards.
Loving survivors include five children, Donna (Elmer) Koenig of Jackson, Judy (Ed) Brinker of O'Fallon, Missouri, and Lonnie (Marilyn) Sievers, Randy (Vickie) Sievers and Stanley (Lisa) Sievers, all of Jackson; 10 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-stepgrandchild. Also surviving are a brother, Nelson (Mary) Birk of Fredericktown, Missouri, and a sister, Vera Allen of Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years; two brothers, Gerhard and Alfred Birk; and four sisters, Vanita Spooler, Alma Mouser-Aufdenberg, Laura Nagel and Elverda Allen.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday in Chapel A at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Mark Boettcher officiating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
