Hughey Mullins

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Hughey H. "Moon" Mullins, 77, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2001, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

He was born Oct. 22, 1924, at Yount, Mo., son of Joseph H. and Ethel Thompson Mullins. He and Glenda M. Thompson were married Sept. 5, 1942, at Perryville.

Mullins had worked at McDonnell-Douglas Corp. before retiring. He attended Whitewater Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Sharon Harris of House Springs, Mo., Charlotte Lener of Maryland Heights, Mo., and Vickie Thompson of Perryville; a son, Alvin "Buzz" Mullins of Perryville; three sisters, Freda Finch and Irma Pyatt of Fredericktown, Mo., and Juanita Bowling of Perryville; a brother, Joseph E. Mullins of Fredericktown; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, three sisters, a brother and a grandchild.

Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. today at Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville and from 6:30 to service time Tuesday.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with Clyde E. Bess Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Whitewater Christian Cemetery.
