ADVANCE -- Hubert F. Day, 72, of Advance died Saturday, Dec. 13, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital. He was born Dec. 16, 1924, son of Frank and Anna Day. ADVANCE -- Hubert F. Day, 72, of Advance died Saturday, Dec. 13, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born Dec. 16, 1924, son of Frank and Anna Day. He married Joyce Hawkins on Sept. 15, 1979, in Springfield.

Day was a farmer. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Advance and a charter member of the Advance Eagles 4154.

Survivors include his wife; two stepsons, Vince and Jeff Hawkins, both of Advance; four sisters, Ruth Rice and Bonnie June Jones, both of Springfield, Lois Hayes of St. Louis, and Wilma Holland of Mobile, Ala.; and seven step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a half sister.

Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Chapel today from 5 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. James Brice officiating and Gary Reutzel assisting. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
