Hubert A. "Hugh" Estes, 86, died Wednesday, May 25, 1994, in Bend, Ore. He was born Dec. 22, 1907, in Cape Girardeau County, son of Ranson E. and Lula McCullough Estes. He married Wanda Webb Hitt, who preceded him in death. Estes lived on the West Coast, returning to Cape Girardeau where he resided during the late 1960s and early 1970s. Hubert A. "Hugh" Estes, 86, died Wednesday, May 25, 1994, in Bend, Ore.

He was born Dec. 22, 1907, in Cape Girardeau County, son of Ranson E. and Lula McCullough Estes. He married Wanda Webb Hitt, who preceded him in death.

Estes lived on the West Coast, returning to Cape Girardeau where he resided during the late 1960s and early 1970s. He had been a carpenter at Southeast Missouri State University, and was a member of Carpenters Local.

Survivors include two sons, Clifford and Bruce Estes of Salem, Ore.; a stepdaughter, Mary Anderson of Kansas City; a brother, Everett Estes Jr. of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Mable McMillian and Mildred Insco of San Bernardino, Calif., and a number of grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Graveside service will be held Tuesday in Pilot Butte Cemetery at Bend.

Niswonger-Reynolds Funeral Home at Bend is in charge of arrangements.
