Howard Thieret

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Howard Joseph Thieret, 88, of Perryville died Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, at Perry County Nursing Home.

He was born Feb. 15, 1916, at Belgique, Mo., son of Arthur and Lula Hagan Thieret. He and Bernice C. L'Hote were married Oct. 27, 1937. She died Oct. 1, 1994.

Thieret was a farmer. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church at Sereno, Mo., Third Degree member of Knights of Columbus Council 1263, and member of Holy Name Society and American Legion Booster.

Survivors include five sons, Dale, Gary, Kevin, Denny and Allen Thieret, all of Perryville; four daughters, Karen Ellis of Perryville, Darlene Hayden and Marilyn Hoffman of St. Louis, Carol Miserocchi of Festus, Mo.; a brother, Lloyd Thieret of Perryville; a sister, Marita Cattoor of Perryville; 31 grandchildren; and 56 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. today, and Thursday from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. A Catholic and Knights of Columbus wake service will be at 7 tonight. The rosary will be recited at 8:15 a.m. Thursday.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Victory Church, with the Rev. Francis Agnew officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
