Howard J. Suedmeyer, 2825 Bloomfield, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 1997, at the Lutheran Home. He was 86 years old.
He was born Jan. 10, 1910, in St. Louis, son of William and Katherine Kern Suedmeyer. In 1939 he married Jewel Champion. He and his family lived in St. Louis, where he shared ownership of Suedmeyer and Sons Funeral Home and was a member of Friedens Evangelical Church of Christ. He also held memberships in the Moose Lodge, Paramount Club, and the Central Rowing Club.
He is survived by his son, Howard M. Suedmeyer of Jackson; one brother, Marvin Suedmeyer of Mission Viejo, Calif.; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife and seven brothers.
Visitation will take place Monday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel. Funeral services will be held in the chapel at 7 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Gary Brothers and the Rev. Charles Lance will conduct the services. A graveside service will be conducted at the Friedens Cemetery chapel in St. Louis at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Rev. Clarence Casteel officiating. Burial will follow in the cemetery.
