Homer Lee Oberbeck, 57, of Jackson died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007, in Madison, Wis.
He was born Dec. 12, 1949, in Cape Girardeau, son of Victor Lee Jean and Allyne Crites Oberbeck. He was raised by his mother and stepfather, Louis Bodenstein.
Oberbeck was a 1968 graduate of Jackson High School. He was an over-the-road truck driver with Oberbeck Transport. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
He was a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include three sons, Brandon Oberbeck of Bloomfield, Ind., Christopher Oberbeck of Jackson, Jeremy Huster of Elkhart, Ind.; his father of Caruthersville, Mo.; two brothers, Alan Oberbeck of Jackson, Clarence Bodenstein of Cape Girardeau; six sisters, Melody Hagans of Jackson, Anita Lansmon of Lewisville, Texas, Edith Neal and Sarah Guebert of Cape Girardeau, Linda Seyer of Allenville, and Suzanne Bodenstein of St. Louis.
He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Barry Pfanstiel officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery with full military honors.
