MARBLE HILL -- Homer C. Barks, 87, of Marble Hill died Saturday, Oct. 12, 1996, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born March 30, 1909, in the Cross Roads community of Perry County, son of Melbern and Sarah Fadler Barks. He married Clodine Hahn Sept. 10, 1932. She preceded him in death Jan. 31, 1974. MARBLE HILL -- Homer C. Barks, 87, of Marble Hill died Saturday, Oct. 12, 1996, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born March 30, 1909, in the Cross Roads community of Perry County, son of Melbern and Sarah Fadler Barks.

He married Clodine Hahn Sept. 10, 1932. She preceded him in death Jan. 31, 1974. He married Geraldine Choate Bollinger June 22, 1985. She survives.

He raised Herford cattle. He was a member of the Hahn Chapel General Baptist Church near Marble Hill and was a 50-year member of the Masonic Trowel Lodge 440 AF & AM at Marble Hill.

He had served as a Black River Electric Co-op Board member 45 years. He was on the board of the Missouri-Arkansas Power Co-op 19 years. In 1995, he received the Abe Burrows Award for service to rural electric cooperatives.

Survivors include two daughters, Myra Kay Dickerson and Betty Cheatham, both of Marble Hill; a brother, Dewey Barks, Marquand; two sisters, Blanche V. Loberg of Perryville and May Moran, Las Vegas; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill with the Rev. Mack Williams and the Rev. Gerald Huff officiating. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.
