LEOPOLD -- Herschel H. Hinkebein, 67, of Leopold died Saturday, March 4, 2000, at John Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
He was born July 11, 1932, at Leopold, son of Joseph and Hendricka Seesing Hinkebein.
Hinkebein was retired from Florsheim Shoe Co. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 5898 in Leopold, and VFW Post 5900 of Marble Hill.
He served with the U.S. Army in Korea.
Survivors include a brother, Dr. John Hinkebein of Manchester; two sisters, Theodora Jansen of Leopold and Kathleen Peters of Marble Hill.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a twin brother.
Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill from 3-9 p.m. Wednesday. Parish prayers will be at 5:30 p.m., with the rosary at 8:30 by Knights of Columbus Council 5898.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Church, with the Rev. Bill Huggins officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, with military rites by VFW Post 5900.
