WITTENBERG -- Herman G. Braeuner, 85, of Wittenberg died Saturday, March 30, 1996, at the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff. He was born May 5, 1910, at Wittenberg, son of Herman and Elizabeth Leine Braeuner. He worked as a sawmill operator and was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altenburg. WITTENBERG -- Herman G. Braeuner, 85, of Wittenberg died Saturday, March 30, 1996, at the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.

He was born May 5, 1910, at Wittenberg, son of Herman and Elizabeth Leine Braeuner.

He worked as a sawmill operator and was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altenburg. He also was a World War II veteran and member of VFW Post 4282.

Survivors include a brother, Martin Braeuner of Cape Girardeau and a sister, Elizabeth I. Macke of Jackson.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville and again from 6:30 until 8 a.m. Tuesday. A VFW wake will be held at 7 tonight at the funeral home.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altenburg, with the Rev. Charles Weber officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
