CHAFFEE -- Herman Fowler, 64, of Chaffee, died Thursday, May 14, 1992, at Southeast Missouri Hospital. He was born Sept. 7, 1927, at Chaffee, son of Robert Oscar and Minta Graves Fowler. He and the former Jacqueline Shell were married Dec. 1, 1948. Fowler had worked in construction through Local 1104 in Cape Girardeau, retiring in 1990. CHAFFEE -- Herman Fowler, 64, of Chaffee, died Thursday, May 14, 1992, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born Sept. 7, 1927, at Chaffee, son of Robert Oscar and Minta Graves Fowler. He and the former Jacqueline Shell were married Dec. 1, 1948.

Fowler had worked in construction through Local 1104 in Cape Girardeau, retiring in 1990. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was a member of Chaffee VFW Post 3127.

Survivors include his wife; a son, James Fowler, Chaffee Route 1; a daughter, Kelly Fowler of Chaffee; a brother, Bud Fowler of Marion, Ark.; four sisters, Jackie Calvert of Chaffee, Dorothy Henson of Gooding, Idaho, Vera Astridge of Buffalo, N.Y., Melba Jaskolski of Pinedale, Wyo., and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. The Rev. Arlene Hiscox will officiate, with burial in Union Park Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.
