UNIONTOWN, Mo. -- Herman Joseph Erzfeld, 84, of Uniontown died Thursday, Dec. 10, 2020, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Perryville, Missouri.

He was born Oct. 5, 1936, in Uniontown to Henry Ignatious and Rose Unterreiner Erzfeld. He and Lunette Berkbuegler were married April 15, 1961. She survives in Uniontown.

Herman served full-time for over 40 years in the National Guard and was a member of Retired National Guard Association. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Men's Organization, Parish Council and School Board, all in Apple Creek, Missouri. He was a member of St. Vincent High School's graduating class of 1955.

Other survivors include his son, Mike Erzfeld of Uniontown; daughter, Lori Erzfeld of Uniontown; and two sisters, Rose Buelteman of Cape Girardeau and Edna Wucher of St. Louis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Max, Eliott and Joseph Erzfeld; and three sisters, Mildred Enke, Genevieve Leible and, Valeria Schloss.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Apple Creek with the Rev. Patrick Christopher officiating. The family requests attendance be limited to family and close friends. Burial with military honors provided by Delta Team will be at St. Michael Catholic Church Cemetery in Apple Creek.
