Herman Eugene Diebold, 82, of Kelso, Mo., formerly of Benton, Mo., died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2004, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born on Aug. 27, 1922, in Benton, son of Frank and Ida Bollinger Diebold. He married Mildred Francis Lochridge on Sept. 3, 1943...

Herman Eugene Diebold, 82, of Kelso, Mo., formerly of Benton, Mo., died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2004, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born on Aug. 27, 1922, in Benton, son of Frank and Ida Bollinger Diebold. He married Mildred Francis Lochridge on Sept. 3, 1943.

He was a salesman for Anderson Parks and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Diebold of Kelso; four sons, Gene Diebold of Bloomsdale, Mo., James Diebold of Columbus, Ohio, Charlie Diebold of O'Fallon, Mo., and John Diebold of St. Louis, Mo.; three daughters, Pat Atkins of St. Charles, Mo., Mary Moyers of Jackson, and Brenda McKinnis of Corpus Christi, Texas; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Amick Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton. Parish prayers will be at 6 p.m.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Oliver Clavin officiating.

Burial will be in St. Denis Cemetery in Benton.
