BENTON, Mo. -- Herbert H. Seiler, 80, of Benton died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2006, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Aug. 25, 1926, at Oran, Mo., son of Herman and Mary Snider Seiler. He and Louise Vetter were married June 13, 1949, at Benton.
Mr. Seiler was a farmer. He was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church.
He was a technical sergeant in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Louise; three sons, Bill (Karen) Seiler, Jim (Cecilia) Seiler, and Mark (Lila) Seiler, all of Benton; two daughters, Kathy (Wayne) Mattes of Cape Girardeau, Linda (Bill) Emerine of Benton; two sisters, Aileen Keifer of St. Louis, and Bernadette Bollinger of Benton.
Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, Chad Seiler, Ryan Mattes, Derek Emerine, Eric Seiler, Jarett Seiler, Rebecca White, Christina Bruenderman, Emily Seiler, Lisa Seiler, Allison Seiler; and two great-grandchildren, Nicole Mattes and Dominic Mattes.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton from 4 to 8 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 6:30.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Denis Catholic Church, with the Rev. Normand Varone officiating. Burial will be in St. Denis Cemetery, with full military honors conducted by Missouri Honor Guard.
