Herbert Huggins, 77, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born Dec. 13, 1929, in Greenfield, Tenn., son of Talma and Ethel Richmond Huggins. He and Margy Poe were married Aug. 17, 1952, in Cape Girardeau. She died Sept. 27, 2002.

Huggins was a very active member of Word of Faith Fellowship, where he was a deacon, member of the board of trustees, and was the piano player.

He retired from General Sign Co. after 30 years of service.

Survivors include a son, Darryl Huggins and wife Paula of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Debbie Perr and husband Howard of Scott City, LaDonna Tidwell and husband Ron of Sikeston, Mo.; a twin brother, Hubert Huggins of San Antonio; a sister, Louise Tidwell of Sikeston; two nieces, Gloria Sullivan and Janet Stidham of San Antonio; six grandchildren, LaDonna Beard and husband Jim of Benton, Mo., David Tidwell of St. Louis, Justin Tidwell and wife Kim of Springfield, Mo., Steven Tidwell of Sikeston, Laura Huggins and Alex Huggins of Cape Girardeau; and two great-grandchildren, Dylan Hackler and Danielle Beard of Benton; and a brother-in-law, Donnie Poe and wife Sharon of Poplar Bluff, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Word of Faith Fellowship, with the Rev. Don Henson officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery.
