PLANO, Texas -- Herbert B. Collier Jr., 72, of Plano, formerly of Sikeston, Mo., died Monday, Oct. 18, 2004, at his home in Plano, Texas.
He was born Oct. 13, 1932, in Paducah, Ky., son of Herbert B. Sr. and Selma Attebury Collier. He attended grade and high school in Paducah, graduating from Dorian Private School.
After graduation, he served two years in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He was later employed by Equifax Corp. for 23 years. He was the former owner and operator of the Ridgeview Minnie Mart in Salcedo, Texas until 1997.
He and Dorothy Marie Hampton were married Aug. 3,1957.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Mike Collier of Plano; a daughter, Susan Phelps of Little Elm, Texas; five grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by twin grandsons and his parents.
Friends may call after 10 a.m. Friday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
