SIKESTON -- Herbert Arvil Edwards, 78, of Sikeston, died Friday, Nov. 12, 1993, at Miner Nursing Center.
He was born March 31, 1915, in Eddyville, Ky., son of William Patten and Belle Sawyers Edwards. He and Ruby Lee Holmes were married Dec. 10, 1938, at Oran. She died Jan. 31, 1959. He then married Rosetta Butler in 1968, who died in March 1976.
Edwards was a member of Sikeston Eagles 3319.
Survivors include two sons, Allen Edwards of Florissant, Arvil Edwards of Sikeston; two daughters, Caroline Stroud of Sikeston, Patsy Fraley of Nashville, Tenn.; nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. The Rev. Jim King will officiate, with burial in Matthews Cemetery at Matthews.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
