MATTHEWS, Mo. -- Henry Williams, 78, of Matthews died suddenly Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000, in the Emergency Room at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo., of an apparent heart attack.
He was born March 6, 1922, in Tally, Miss., son of William Thomas and Arie Huff Williams. He and Mary Louise Wilson were married Sept. 17, 1942, in New Madrid, Mo.
Williams lived in Matthews more than 20 years. He was a charter member of Barnes Ridge Missionary Baptist Church near East Prairie, Mo.
Survivors include his wife; six sons, Roy Williams of Lilbourn, Mo., Ronnie Williams of East Prairie, John Williams of Portageville, Mo., Terry Williams of Matthews, Barry Williams of Cape Girardeau, Mike Williams of Sparta, Wis.; two daughters, Mendia Brooks of East Prairie, Frances Hickman of Matthews; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.
Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Raymond McMafee, Raymond Grimes and Otis Brooks officiating. Burial will be in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
