Henry Majka

Henry Jacob Majka, 88, of Delta passed away Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born July 27, 1925, in Chicago to the late Jacob and Mary Smolak Majka. He married Ruth Evelyn Hefner on Jan. 23, 1954, and she preceded him in death Dec. 11, 2009...

Henry Jacob Majka, 88, of Delta passed away Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 27, 1925, in Chicago to the late Jacob and Mary Smolak Majka. He married Ruth Evelyn Hefner on Jan. 23, 1954, and she preceded him in death Dec. 11, 2009.

He retired as an auto body worker for IAM Union 701 in Chicago. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee, Mo., and SEMO Deaf Club.

Survivors include two sons, Ivan (Donna) Majka of Jackson and Audie Majka of Delta; three grandchildren, Branson (Angela) Majka of Scott City, Brandi (Shawn) Morris of Perryville, Mo., and Breanna Majka of Jackson; one great-grandson, Dustin Majka of Benton, Mo; one brother, Chester Majka of Chicago; and one sister, Carol Hanacek of Bartlett, Ill.

He also was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Randy Tochtrop officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park in Advance, Mo.
