HENRY EFTINK

ORAN -- Henry J. "H.J." Eftink, 86, of Oran died Sunday, June 13, 1999, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 10, 1912, at Leopold, son of John and Elizabeth Elfrink Eftink. He and Delpha LaFont were married Oct. 5, 1937.

Eftink was a retired farmer. He was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church and its St. Joseph Sodality.

Survivors include his wife; seven sons, Msgr. Edward M. Eftink of Jackson, Michael J. Eftink of Gordonville, Larry R. Eftink of Springfield, Louis M. Eftink of Sedgwick, Kan., Thomas H. Eftink of Chaffee, David E. Eftink of Oran, Kenneth J. Eftink of Bloomfield; and a daughter, Barbara Jarvis of St. Louis.

Also surviving are two brothers, George Eftink of Chaffee, Andrew Eftink of Portageville; two sisters, Emma Gaines of Oran, Mary Klipfel of Portageville; 24 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Friends may call at Guardian Angel Church from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday. Parish prayers will be at 7, and Knights of Columbus prayer service at 7:30.

Funeral Mass will be at noon Thursday at the church, with Msgr. Edward Eftink officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
