SCOTT CITY -- Funeral mass for Henry A. Fuemmeler of Scott City will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. Rick Jones will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Scott City after 4 p.m. today. KC Council 1111 in Cape Girardeau will be in charge of the rosary at 7:30.
Fuemmeler, 78, died Monday, Oct. 18, 1993, at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
He was born Jan. 29, 1915, at Glennonville, son of Joseph and Mary Hubach Fuemmeler. He and JoAnn Elizabeth Prenger were married May 14, 1943. She died Jan. 30, 1991.
Fuemmeler was a first mate with Inland Oil Co. of St. Louis. He was a member of St. Joseph Church. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II, and was a prisoner of war.
Survivors include four sons, Jerry Blank, Steve and David Fuemmeler of Cape Girardeau, Donald Fuemmeler of Eureka; two daughters, Carolyn Deken and Linda Hirtz of Poplar Bluff, and 16 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
