HELEN SCOTT

MARBLE HILL -- Helen G. Scott, 98, of Marble Hill died Monday, Oct. 18, 1999, at Eldercare of Marble Hill.

She was born Sept. 22, 1901, near Glen Allen, daughter of Robert Luke and Nellie McGregor Vance. She and Carl B. Scott were married June 6, 1924. He died Feb. 1, 1988.

Scott was a teacher many years, retiring from Woodland Public Schools. She was a member of First Baptist Church and had taught Sunday School; member of Victory Chapter of Eastern Star, Women's Federation of Missouri, Bollinger County Historical Society, Missouri State Teachers Association, and National Education Association.

Survivors include a son, Robert Scott of Bonne Terre; two daughters, Ruth Fowler of St. Louis, Mary Jean Zimmerman of Lakeland, Fla.; a sister, Gladys Scott of St. Charles; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Fred Ritter will officiate. Burial will be in Baker Cemetery.
