Helen M. Rose, 89, of Cape Girardeau passed away Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017, at the Lutheran Home.
Helen was born April 23, 1928, in East St. Louis, Illinois, daughter of Swope and Marie Davis Tallent. The family moved to Jackson when Helen was a child.
She graduated from Jackson High School and attended Southeast Missouri State University. Helen worked in the health-care field, first at The Surgical Clinic and then in medical records at Saint Francis Medical Center.
Helen was an active member of the River City Business and Professional Women’s Club, attending many national and international meetings and conferences. She was a lifelong member of Centenary United Methodist Church, where she sang in the church choir; was a charter member of the Clipper Sunday School Class; was active in United Methodist Women and Circle groups; taught Sunday school and served on the Church Administrative Council.
Helen is survived by two daughters, Terry (Terry) Crowell and Barbara Narsh, both of Cape Girardeau; and one son, Steve (Regina Shea) Rose of Laporte, Colorado. She also is survived by four grandchildren, Cynda (Chuck) Koch of Jackson, Joe (Rachael) Narsh of Weybridge, United Kingdom, Jason (Casey) Crowell of Cape Girardeau and Josh (Theresa) Crowell of Jackson; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A private committal service was held at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.
The family extends its gratitude to the hospice staff at Southeast Hospital and the staff of the Lutheran Home.
