KELSO, Mo. -- Helen Brigitta Menz, 92, of Kelso died Monday, Sept. 19, 2016, at The Arbors of Auburn Creek in Cape Girardeau.

She was born April 28, 1924, in Illmo to Anton and Anne Ostendorf Diebold. She married Alfred Alphonus Menz on June 27, 1953, in Kelso. He preceded her in death March 21, 2012.

Helen was a seamstress for Ely Walker and also worked at Saint Francis Medical Center. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, St. Ann's Ladies Sodality, Kelso Quilters, Saint Francis Auxiliary and volunteered for many years.

She is survived by five sons, Charles (Donna) Menz and Denis (Linda) Menz of Kelso, Greg (Denise) Menz of Benton, Missouri, Tim (Bonnie) Menz of Jackson and Steve (Jenifer) Menz of Boerne, Texas; two daughters, Cecilia (Jim) Seiler and Laverne (Kenny) Dirnberger of Benton; two sisters, Clara (Simon) Essner of Kelso and Dorothy Ressel of Cape Girardeau; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren, with two more expected this year.

She also was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Diebold; and a sister, Lorena Essner.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso. Parish rosary will be at 7 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Joseph Weidenbenner as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery in Kelso.
