SCOTT CITY -- Helen Marie Weaver, 73, of Scott City died Monday, Dec. 23, 1991, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born May 14, 1918, at Americus, the daughter of August and Rosella Struttman Grotewiel. On Nov. 27, 1946, she married Charles Lee Weaver, who preceded her in death Nov. 13, 1987.

She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City and the church's Council of Catholic Women.

Survivors include three sons, Alfred Weaver of Jackson, Sidney Weaver of New Orleans, La. and John Weaver of Scott City; two daughters, Mary Eileen Jost of Potosi and Lula Simpson of Scott City; four brothers, Verus Grotewiel of Downy, Calif., Fabian Grotewiel of Bynumville, Earl Stockhorst of Glasgow and Paul Stockhorst of Marshall; three sisters, Marcella Himmelberg of Glasgow, Cornelia Starke of Maryville and Ruth Fuenfhausen of Columbia; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

She also was preceded in death by a grandson.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City, where parish prayers will be said at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral mass will be said at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City. The Rev. Roger Leveillee will officiate, and burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
