Helen Marie Sanders, 78, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Feb. 18, 2000, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 22, 1921, in Union City, Tenn., daughter of Jessie and Mary Fobar Priest. She and George Sanders were married on Dec. 15, 1959, at St. Louis.
She had worked for Ford Motor Co. at St. Louis as an upholsterer and was a member of West 22nd Baptist Church in Granite City, Ill. She moved to Cape Girardeau in 1985 from Granite City.
Survivors include her husband; one brother, Charles Priest of Marble Hill; and five sisters, Nell Mainer and Edith Priest of Cape Girardeau, Ann Duty of Benton, Aline Tompkins of East Prairie, and Jessalean Ray of Arlington, Ky.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
A graveside service will be held at Lorimier Cemetery Monday at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
