Helen Marie Cassout, 79, 2852 Independence, died Wednesday, July 29, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center. She was born June 24, 1913, at Fornfelt, daughter of William and Mary Jane Bollinger Brooks. She married Walter Cassout July 3, 1930. He died Dec. 2, 1966...

Helen Marie Cassout, 79, 2852 Independence, died Wednesday, July 29, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center.

She was born June 24, 1913, at Fornfelt, daughter of William and Mary Jane Bollinger Brooks. She married Walter Cassout July 3, 1930. He died Dec. 2, 1966.

Cassout was a retired seamstress from Ely Walker, and was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church in Scott City.

Survivors include a daughter, Margie Casteel of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Carl and William Brooks of St. Louis; two sisters, Frances Cruse of Scott City, Dorothy Spink of St. Charles; three grandsons, and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, brother and sister.

Friends may call after 5:30 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Scott City. The Rev. William Dickey will officiate, with burial in Lightner Cemetery.
