Helen Lipe

Helen Louise Lipe, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, June 11, 2010, at Fountainbleau Lodge.

She was born June 24, 1925, at Cape Girardeau, to Ben and Flora McDowell Snider.

She and Raymond F. Lipe were married Nov. 1, 1941, in Cape Girardeau. He died Jan. 21, 2002.

Mrs. Lipe was a member of VFW Post 3838 Auxiliary.

She is survived by a son, Rodney Lipe (Linda Hurt) of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Sheila Rae (David) Allen of Whitewater; a grandchild, Tracie Viner; five great-grandchildren, Taylor Madsen, Allensen Madsen, Clayton Wideman, Abby Viner and Jordan Harrah; a brother, Bob (Doris) Snider of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Carolyn (Don) Seabaugh of Cape Girardeau; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather; her husband; a granddaughter, Gail Allen Harrah; four sisters; and three brothers.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel, with VFW Post 3838 Auxiliary service at 7 p.m.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral chapel, with the Revs. Jim Matthews and Joe Allen officiating.

Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
