Helen Marie Garms, 77, of Scott City died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Feb. 28, 1927, at Rivermines, Mo., daughter of Lyman and Nannie Smith Jenkins. She and John A. Garms were married Oct. 15, 1977, in Scott City.

Garms was a former IBM operator at Wetterau. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and life member of Ladies Auxiliary to VFW Post 6407.

Survivors include her husband; two stepsons, John Garms II of Arnoldville, La., Jerry Garms of Oak Ridge; a daughter, Bonnie Raines of Chaffee, Mo.; a sister, Doris Pratt of Farmington, Mo.; a half sister, Ann Petrie of Farmington; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother.

Friends may call at St. Joseph Church after 9 a.m. Friday, and from 5 to 8 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Service in Farmington.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Church, with the Rev. David Coon officiating. A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at New Calvary Cemetery in Farmington. The Rev. James Dyer will officiate.
