Helen Marie Friese, 93, of Friedheim died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014, at Jackson Manor Nursing Home.
She was born Feb. 5, 1921, in Daisy, to Richard Trustin and Dora Dorcas Penny Cobble.
She and Ernest Luther Friese were married Dec. 22, 1940. He died May 29, 1993.
Helen graduated from Oak Ridge High School in 1938. She was a member of Sargents Chapel Lutheran Church and had been a Sunday school teacher there for 31 years. She was a member of the Critesville Homemakers Club. She was a homemaker and helped on the family farm. Helen loved to quilt and do embroidery.
She is survived by two daughters, Loretta (Paul W.) Lowes of Jackson and Ethel (Vernon) Daume of Daisy; two sisters, Hester (Paul) Turner of Jackson and Hazel Hillegass of Gautier, Mississippi; two grandsons, Stephen (Dr. Shelly) Daume of Daisy and Nathan (Christie) Daume of Quincy, Illinois; and three great-grandchildren, Danielle, Joshua and William.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Hilda (Wade) Search and Catherine Cobble; a granddaughter, Sara Leigh Daume; and a brother-in-law, Wayne Hillegass.
Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to service time Tuesday at Sargents Chapel.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with the Rev. Jerry Bailey officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Tri County Hospice or to Sargents Capel Cemetery Fund.
