CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Helen Bernice Evans, 93, of Chaffee passed away Sunday, July 8, 2012, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born Sept. 3, 1918, in Chaffee, to Philip L. and Mary Welter Halter. She and Paul L. Evans Sr. were married Dec. 5, 1936. He preceded her in death Dec. 14, 1969...
CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Helen Bernice Evans, 93, of Chaffee passed away Sunday, July 8, 2012, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Sept. 3, 1918, in Chaffee, to Philip L. and Mary Welter Halter. She and Paul L. Evans Sr. were married Dec. 5, 1936. He preceded her in death Dec. 14, 1969.
Helen was a member of Christian Mission Church in Benton, Mo.
Survivors include a son, Paul L. Evans Jr. of Delta; two daughters, Rosemary Kinder of Cape Girardeau, Henrietta Lands of Chaffee; 14 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, five brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. William Marshall officiating.
